Everbridge gains patent for the use of AI in analytics dashboards for critical event management software systems

Everbridge, Inc., recognised as a global leader in critical event management (CEM) and national public warning software solutions, has announced that the company has received an important new patent related to the use of AI, applicable to technology such as analytics dashboards for critical event management software systems.

The patent,  U.S. Patent No. 11,775,323 B2, granted to Everbridge highlights innovation with broad applicability, including pattern-recognition algorithms that operate on risk data to identify critical event management trends in order to execute visualizations via a graphical user interface (GUI).

At Everbridge, our mission is to ensure the safety of people and continuity of organizations in the face of critical events. This important patent shows our continued focus and innovation in using AI to optimize our risk intelligence, communications, collaboration, and coordination capabilities into the most effective platform for our customers. AI optimizes speed and decision making when seconds matter during a crisis.

David Wagner, Chief Executive Officer at Everbridge.

Resilience Forward comment:

The market for risk, resilience, business continuity, and crisis management software is likely to be shaken up over the coming years as the rapid rise of artificial intelligence disrupts a market that has been relatively stable for a number of years.

The BCI’s 2023 Technology in Resilience report indicates that the signs of market disruption are already present, with the report stating that artificial intelligence has seen strong growth recently in the areas of risk and resilience. ‘AI is helping resilience professionals to improve the risk assessment process, to bring faster and better decision making, to aid the sourcing and aggregation of information, and improving controls management’,  states the report.

Anecdotally, there is considerable interest among business continuity professionals in ways that AI and machine learning can be used to augment areas of the business continuity lifecycle that are important but traditionally difficult to maintain at scale, such as the business impact analysis (BIA).
