An independent forum has been launched for resilience professionals in South West England and South Wales.
Resilience West aims to provide opportunities for like-minded professionals to meet and connect through group events. Post-Covid, the rise of remote and hybrid working has reduced opportunities to network with others in the same profession but outside one’s own organization. Resilience West aims to bridge this gap.
Resilience West’s free-of-charge inaugural event, sponsored by DRI, will take place on 2 December in Bristol.
This will be a fully interactive day exploring how horizon scanning works, how accurate it is, and what the next 12 months might look like.
There will also be a deep dive into how the UK considers worldwide risks and events, and how these connect with participants’ own organizational activities. The session will explore the collaboration required both within organizations and across professional networks.
Participants will also be asked to consider how well they are prepared for a cyberattack and, for those who have previously experienced an attack, what was learned from it. What assumptions are made about information availability, backups, and the need to adopt manual workarounds? How are issues communicated to stakeholders in a way that maintains credibility and reputation?
Interactive discussions will provide an opportunity to address key questions arising from the day’s core topics, and the event will conclude with a Q&A panel.
