Catchpoint’s second annual Internet Resilience Report shows that trends in the focus of resilience in this area are changing.
The report defines Internet resilience as the capacity to ensure availability, performance, reachability, and reliability of the Internet Stack despite adverse conditions.
The headline finding from the report is that while uptime remains a key goal of Internet resilience, performance is now just as important. If performance is slow, then websites and apps might as well be down.
Other key points include:
- AI observability is a blind spot for some: 27% of organizations only realise something is wrong with AI applications when a customer or user complains.
- Third-party risk is rising: 74% say third-party services are critical to resilience, but they are often outside the scope of traditional monitoring tools.
- Operational efficiency is the top driver for resilience investments, with 73% of respondents agreeing that this area is an important driver. Customer experience is the second highest driver, at 69%.
- 51% of organizations report losing $1 million or more per month due to Internet disruptions, an increase from 43% in 2024.
