Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI) International has published its Tenth Annual Risk and Resilience Trends report. The report provides an analysis of current and emerging risks as viewed by those directly involved in resilience management.
Supported by the DRI Future Vision Committee (FVC), a group of international thought leaders in resilience, business continuity, and crisis management the report is based on a survey of resilience professionals across all industries and sectors.
The report includes the 2024 Resilience Index, which identifies the year’s top ten operational resilience issues. These are:
- Cyber Events
- IT Disruptions
- Natural Disasters
- Financial Conditions
- Human Resource Issues
- Major Facility Incident
- Power Shortages
- Climate Change
- Increased Regulation
- Reputational Issues
The survey also focused on longer-term strategic issues. The top five of these were:
- Changing alliances and geo-political conflicts
- Uncontrolled / unregulated use of artificial intelligence (AI)
- Lack of trust in organizations and institutions
- Lack of natural resources to sustain a modern economy
- Eco-system tipping points.
All of the operational resilience and strategic issues are further analyzed from a regional, business sector, and size/type of organization perspective. Detailed figures are presented for all of these, as well as consideration of the impact of regulation on resilience practice.
The report is available as a free download in the DRI Library.
