A new paper by BSI and CBRE provides guidance on how to plan and build data centers / centres which are future-proof, sustainable, resilient, and secure.
The paper also looks at how the changing external risk landscape is impacting data centers: in the face of extended heatwaves in some regions, existing centers are already facing the limits of traditional cooling systems. Tomorrow’s data centers should be designed for resilience in the face of extreme weather and rising temperatures.
Now is an unappalled moment to design data centers to support tomorrow’s technology and serve society says the paper, but there is a need for dialogue across the industry over how to respond to sustainability considerations, environmental challenges, and external security threats.
