Commvault has announced a partnership with Pinecone to bring advanced resilience capabilities to help enterprises protect and rapidly recover vector retrieval workloads that power retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and other AI use cases.

Commvault’s solution addresses this priority by enabling immutable backup, point-in-time recovery (PITR), and customisable extended retention of vector data – in addition to Pinecone’s natively durable object storage and built-in backup system – all without impacting query latency.
